Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness arrives in theaters on May 6 but select audiences have already watched the first 20 minutes of the upcoming Marvel film. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez and more, the film will pick up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Reactions to the first footage are pouring in and while most of it is positive, a few fans are complaining of bad CGI in the film.
Doctor Strange 2 will see Cumberbatch reprising his role as the Sorcerer Supreme and joining Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch for MCU’s wildest adventure by far. The Sam Raimi directorial is one of the most anticipated superhero flicks of the year and if fan reactions are to be believed, it has some jaw-dropping scenes within its initial runtime. It showcases Doctor Strange battling Gargantos, the one-eyed monster teased in the film’s trailer and MCU newcomer Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez joining in on the adventure.
The clip has Strange going up against Gargantos on a New York street. A Twitter user who watched the first 20 minutes with a select audience also revealed that it contains a “Spider-Man joke” which is sure to spark speculations. Meanwhile, some fans pointed out that the visual effects seem a little off.
